The SCHOOL Program

(Seniors’ Computer Help: Optimized One-on-One Learning)

The SCHOOL Program is designed to help older adults to get the most out of today’s emerging personal computer (PC) technologies. SCHOOL lets you decide what you want to do with your PC, and then gives you the tools, knowledge and skills necessary to do it. Unlike computer literacy classes or group-based instruction, SCHOOL makes the most of your time and get results…FAST! That’s because SCHOOL emphasizes
o Personalized instruction
o Sessions tailored to your needs
o Accommodation of your learning style - visual, auditory, and/or kinesthetic ("hands-on")

And best of all, you don’t have to go anywhere to get to SCHOOL. SCHOOL comes to you! SCHOOL sessions can be held in retirement community rec centers, common use areas, assisted-living home parlors, or in your own home or apartment.

The “Undergraduate” Curriculum
Unlike traditional schools, you decide your grade level and your course of study in the SCHOOL Program! SCHOOL offers a nice variety of courses to get you going in the things you want to do with your PC.

For the Graduate: Personal Practicum Courses
If you don’t see an undergraduate course that covers the topic you are really interested in, then a Personal Practicum may be just the answer! Is there some other aspect of computers or computing technology that has piqued your interest? Do you have an idea of what you want to do but are just not sure where to begin? Call us!
